Title:Parrot Nest   -   http://www.parrot-nest.com/
Description:PARROT NEST is a truly unique tropical experience. Spending the night under a 100 foot guanacaste tree in a thatched tree house is like nothing else! The lodge is surrounded on three sides by the Mopan River, so a refreshing swim in clear water is never far away and the wildlife of the area abound. Yes, parrots are in great number here, along with hundreds of other types of birds, making this an ideal location for bird watching. Coati, agouti, otter, and the giant iguana are among the many animals which are regular visitors to our beautiful gardens which, though lush and exotic, are virtually mosquito free, a real bonus for those who love the great outdoors - and a good nights sleep.

Bullet Tree Falls is the last outpost before the great forests to the west, south and north. Though Spanish-speaking, everyone also speaks English. Located just outside the village, PARROT NEST consists of two tree houses, four cabins, and two bathhouses. Children are welcome. Breakfast and dinner are served on the verandah of the main house. Dinners are generous, healthy and fresh, meals for vegetarians are provided on request. Clean drinking water is always available.

Only three miles from San Ignacio, the hub of Cayo, PARROT NEST is an ideal home base for your explorations of this fascinating district with its rivers (including falls and cascades), caves, archeological sites, jungle walks, medicine trails, butterfly farms and many more attractions. High adventure at a low price is our motto here, and peaceful relaxation is provided free of charge.

Getting to PARROT NEST is quite easy. Buses from Belize City leave every hour. On arrival in San Ignacio, go first to Evas Restaurant on Burns Avenue. Evas is a good spot to refresh yourself on first arrival in Cayo, and it is a goldmine of information about tours and activities in the area. You can take public transport (the taxi collectiva) to Bullet Tree Falls and then make the easy, ten minute walk to the lodge, or you can get a taxi right to the gate for US$7.50.

PRICES: Year round, tree houses & cabins are from US $ 40.00 plus Tax (double occupancy) to US $ 50.00 plus tax ( double occupancy) Out of country reservations should be prepaid, by personal check or credit card, to assure confirmation; any changes in schedule must be made at least 30 days in advance of arrival. Breakfast and dinner are available at Parrot Nest.
